How, exactly, does Watchtower's literature publishing bring them money?
by Island Man ini've heard is said many times that watchtower is a publishing company bringing in money from the proliferation of its literature.
how exactly does this process work?
i know that jws are encouraged to tell the householders of the donation arrangement to support the worldwide work.

It is very inefficient as the number of magazines they print every year verses.the number of people converted into the organization. For every person baptized and not counting those that were raised in the religion, it must take a million magazines to bring in one convert. -

I mentioned this on here before but this was one of the finale straws for me when I started to fade. Growing up we were told not to go and get higher education, so because of a lack of education I was stuck doing a menial crappy job. Then I heard about a friend of the family that was at bethel being put through law school. I recall making a comment to my ex about how the society says one thing but does another thing when it benefits them.
Oh and to add our contribution went toward paying to put this guy through law school.

I can't believe what I am seeing those good dubs dancing to Satans music. Fred Franz is rolling in his grave. -

Local needs talk
by hoser inone of the elders was missing his service bag and suspected that one of the publishers stole it.
he was determined to root out who did it so he decided to give a local needs part on the ten commandments focusing on you must not steal.. he enlisted the help of a trusted ministerial servant and got him to stand at the back of the kingdom hall during the part.
he told the ms that he would read off the ten commandments and when he got to the one "you must not steal" he would pause longer than usual and see if anyone acted nervous or suspicious.

Right after months of this nonsense, my friend who was the "collector" called Bethel, showed the C.O. the physical contract and this brother began to pay $300 a month. Elder rip-off clown shortly went on a European Cruise with his wife (cost $13,000 PP) for thirty days around the Adriatic Sea, when questioned by my friend said "You only have a 40th anniversity once!" Relevance there? You see how corrupt the JW Elders can be when they do not want to pay back what they owe?
Yeah these types seem to have money to spend but not pay back their debts. What a loser. Remind me of a "worldly" person that did work for a good dub. After this dub couldn't pay back his debt he felt that "worldly" guy should just forgive and forget.

With the mapping of the DNA I don't know how the WT can explain that we humans share over 95% DNA of a Chimpanzee. -

JW Children - We're normal, and have fun at conventions, etc.
by berrygerry inwas reading a poster's experience with custody, and the info in wts child custody packet.. children are prepped to present themselves as normal, with school friendships, hobbies, activities, etc.
and not to mention that their life-goal is to pioneer.. the school brochure (1983) contains this gem:.
"they [witness families] also travel several times each year to attend larger gatherings called circuit assemblies and district conventions.

All I remember growing up is that anything we would do would not come guilt free, unless it was something the WT approved. I recall my mom having a party for all the dub kids at our home to give us all something to do. The mistake my mom made was having it on Halloween night. Well as soon as this got back to the overseer, my mom got raked over the coals. Even though it wasn't a Halloween party, the overseer made it out as having one. Too this day I don't know why my mom stayed in the cult as long as she did. -

As far as I see the numbers of the dubs are still growing, not as fast as they would like but there i still growth. I have been on this site for 13 years and the pedophile issue was just beginning to hit the fan then. It is going to take time before this scandal starts to effect the WT growth. -

Does everyone here know they are on record with JW's forever?
by runForever inrichard ashe a full-time special servant of the order of jehovah's witnesses testified in the lopez case that every single disfellowshipping and disassociation and other things have all been scanned in 2011 and are and will be on permanent record with jw's forever.
is this legal?
another completely ironic and warped thing is the disfellowshipping form is called the s77 form.

Funny...when I got visited last year in response to a letter of explanation I demanded of the elders, their parting admonishment was, "And don't go to any apostate websites" - which was a complete non sequitur from anything in our (mostly respectful) 15 minute conversation.
If any elder ever said that to me I would do the opposite of anything they say. Anytime anyone says the words don't, shouldn't, can't they are trying to control. I have had enough of this garbage. Like someone else said on here I could really care less of what they think about me.

Oh he had some contact with us.....Mostly my wife. He was giving her ultimatums "If we want to see him then we have to change/convert also".
My wife said "I don't think so".
This is practiced by an organization that claims to love their neighbours.
